World Grand Prix of Darts
Sky Sports 1
7pm
James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld were big casualties last night, but the short first rounds of the Grand Prix often lead to surprise exits.
Tonight sees ten times champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor in action in the second round after looking comfortable in his first match. They are still short matches and anything can happen as you have to start and finish on a double. If players don't hit the ground running that's when you see upsets. Here are my picks for a decent value accumulator tonight:
Brendan Dolan v Vincent van der Voort
Dolan lost in the final to The Power last year, and he will have an Irish crowd behind him, however to add value to the mix I'm going for van der Voort.
Justin Pipe v Kevin Painter
Pipe is favourite here but I'm going for Kevin for no better reason than he is The Artist.
Don't be silly. He has lost three times in the first round, but this is the second round. Phil 'Retires every year' Taylor everyday.
Mervyn King v Dave Chisnall
I'm going for the King here because he has nerves of steel.
van der Voort, Painter, Taylor and King: Best odds are 14.08 with www.Bet365.com
Might be worth a few quid, but as I said, The Grand Prix is so unpredictable because of it's short format.
